Service

Standing water is not a lawn problem. It is a drainage problem — and we fix the drainage.

French drains, swales, regrading, and culverts. We find where the water is going wrong and redirect it permanently.

Drainage & Grading Solutions

About This Service

Wisconsin spring snowmelt and summer storm events create drainage problems that require excavation equipment and genuine site knowledge to solve correctly.

How It Works

Our Drainage & Grading Solutions Process

  1. 01

    Site Read

We assess your drainage conditions — ideally during or after rain — to understand where water is actually moving and where it pools.

  2. 02

    Diagnosis & Plan

We identify the cause (grade, soil compaction, failed pipe, downspout routing) and propose the most targeted fix rather than guessing.

  3. 03

    Earthwork & Installation

We re-grade, install pipe systems, build swales, or route downspouts based on the diagnosis — using the right solution for the actual problem.

  4. 04

    Turf Re-establishment

We restore disturbed turf areas with topsoil and seed or sod, and verify the drainage solution is working correctly before closing out.

Common Questions

Drainage & Grading Solutions FAQs

How do I know if I have a drainage problem?
Common signs: standing water 24–48 hours after rain, turf that never fully dries in low spots, wet basement or crawl space correlated with rain events, or soil erosion near downspouts.
What is a French drain and when is it the right solution?
A French drain is a gravel-filled trench with a perforated pipe that moves water subsurface from a collection point to an outlet. It's best when surface runoff needs to be moved underground without disrupting lawn or landscape.
Can you fix a basement drainage problem from the outside?
Often yes — improper foundation grade is a common cause of basement seepage. Re-grading to pitch away from the foundation is the first thing to address before looking at interior drain solutions.
Do you work with downspout routing?
Yes. Concentrated roof runoff from improperly terminated downspouts is a major cause of yard drainage issues. We route extensions to appropriate outlets or install catch basins.
How long does drainage work disrupt the yard?
Most installations take one to three days. We re-seed disturbed areas and most turf recovers fully within one growing season.
