It starts with soil preparation — working organic matter into compacted Wisconsin clay, establishing drainage that does not leave roots saturated after every rain, and choosing plants with compatible light, moisture, and soil requirements rather than mixing plants that will compete and decline. In-ground beds are established with proper soil amendment, edged with steel for lasting definition, and planted with species chosen for your specific site conditions. We are direct about what will not work in a given spot and will not install plants we do not expect to thrive.

    Build and prep

    Raised bed frames constructed or in-ground beds excavated and amended. Soil filled to the correct depth with the right mix for the intended planting.

    Planting

    Species installed at proper spacing for mature size, mulched, and watered in. Care instructions provided for the establishment period.
